Description of Product

Fairly scarce record by Los Angeles-based Curtis Mosby & his Dixieland Blue Blowers, made more interesting by Mosby’s autograph in white ink on the label of “Blue Blowers Blues.” This copy has a rough start on “Blue Blowers Blues” for the first 20 seconds or so, then cleans up somewhat but is still marred by distortion, mostly on the tuba notes. That side also has a 3-groove dig that requires some gentle sideways pressure on the headshell to keep it from skipping a groove, and a pressing flaw that causes about 8 pops but passes with no trouble. The flip side plays better with somewhat less distortion. Both sides have moderate scuffing and some light scratches. This record is from the personal collection of radio personality and music historian Barret “Dr. Demento” Hansen, who is starting to downsize portions of his collection.
