St. Louis blues singer Teddy Darby’s only Victor, recorded in Chicago in September 1931 and released in January 1932. This issue only sold 262 copies according to the Victor files, and has never been sold on eBay. This copy plays better than it looks, with only occasional minor peak distortion using a 3.5-mil stylus, but it’s crackly due to scratches and wear. The B side has a small edge flake that doesn’t touch the first groove. Lots of scuffing and moderate scratches. Still enjoyable to listen to, MP3 available on request. This record is from the personal collection of radio personality and music historian Barret “Dr. Demento” Hansen, who is starting to downsize portions of his collection.
